Sector Issues

The working group on sector issues deals with the subject of sector classification.

In this context the term "sector" encompasses a variety of characteristics that are relevant from the point of view of bond valuation and administration: Whether you are dealing with indices or portfolio analyses, evaluations by debtor category, collateral or risk classes – a conclusive sector classification is vital in any event. Unfortunately, no standardized, generally accepted sector classification has yet been found.

In cooperation with data and index providers as well as market participants, the working group on sector issues strives towards a harmonization that would solve this generally recognized problem in the Swiss capital market.

In 2007 and 2008 the committee laid a great deal of groundwork that also entered several projects of the SIX group. A number of projects will likely be implemented within the next few months. However, the working group's activities will not be completed with the realizations.

At present the committee is headed by Mr. Markus Benz.

General Assembly OKS

The general assembly took place on May 10, 2012 at the Hotel Widder. The event was a great success not only by the number of attendee. The official part was followed by a presentation of Dr. Dominique Ammann (PPC Metrics) and a social part.
