Our History.

The SBC has existed in its current legal form as an association since April 2004.

Before today's Swiss Bond Commission was founded, its predecessor, an informal working group named Schweizerische Obligationenkommission, was committed to the active development of the fixed-income markets for many years. Among other things it pursued the interests of the Swiss market participants in the European Bond Commission (EBC).

The foundation of the SBC was a logical step towards an even better and stronger representation of the market participants' interests vis-à-vis the authorities and the market regulators.

Why Join the SBC?

A large number of market participants from all segments of the fixed-income markets have joined the Swiss Bond Commission. They consider their membership a valuable asset.

The Swiss Bond Commission provides a unique platform for getting in touch with experts in the bond/interest rate market. Through the Swiss Bond Commission, the association's members have a strong impact allowing them to influence the regulatory environment.

Owing to its international connections with organizations such as the European Bond Commission (EBC), the SBC's voice can be heard well beyond the Swiss borders.

The SBC has formed a number of working groups dealing with issues and questions surrounding the fixed-income business. In internal and external panels, they cooperate closely with the authorities and the stock exchange. Their know-how directly benefits all SBC members.
